In March, 105,046 properties were sold, 5,3% less than in March of the previous year. Istanbul took first place with 19,140 transfers and a share of 18,2%, followed by Ankara with 10,619 (10,1%) and Izmir with 6,366 transfers (6,1%).

In February, 78,450 properties were sold, 18.2% less than in February of the previous year. Istanbul took first place with 14,462 transfers and a share of 18.4%, followed by Ankara with 7,690 (9.8%) and Izmir with 4,403 transfers (5.6%).
Turkey Real Estate - Mandatory expert opinion for determining the value of real estate in Turkey
As of 4 March 2019, a new regulation will come into force which is relevant for the sale of real estate in Turkey to foreign citizens. It introduces the obligation to submit a valuation report for real estate located in Turkey. The declared objectives are to avoid excessive price demands, to increase cost transparency in the construction sector for Turkish apartments and houses and thereby to improve the brand value "Made in Turkey".
